This pattern started life as the Alexandra wet fly that was adapted to a streamer pattern by the Hardy Brothers and was further evolved into the Alexandra Streamer in the late 1920s. It is not known how the Hardy Brothers came to create this pattern and history seems to be a little foggy about the original Alexandra.

In America, it is not only Trout that seem to have a liking for this pattern, Smallmouth Bass and Crappies are equally at home being caught on it so it has to be worth a go in the UK!
